Comment / On short finals for Newcastle's runway 07, inbound from Cardiff.

Comment / It's great to see Monarch's A330s back in Newcastle again for the summer. Here, G-SMAN lines up on runway 25 for the first flight of the season to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

Comment / The first Monarch flight of the season rolls down runway 25, with and overview of the Newcastle terminal behind. It's looking pretty empty over there, with just a Thomsonfly 757 on stand.

Comment / This Boeing 757 was originally delivered on April 13th 1989 to Air Europe, as G-BRJD. After then flying for a handful of other operators, she joined the Jet2 ranks in 2006, wearing this white livery.

Comment / Arriving in the north east on a lovely sunny morning from Belfast's City airport.

Comment / It's 0728 and G-CELX rolls on to runway 25 for her first flight of the day. No, not quite! Each night, the two based Jet2 Boeing 737 Quick Change aircraft are employed on mail flights from Newcastle to London Stansted and East Midlands, departing late in the evening and arriving back in the early hours.

Comment / G-EZJK prepares for the early morning rotation down to London Stansted.

Comment / Arriving as Sunwings 9010, this Eurocypria 737 passed through Dublin and Newcastle last week on her way back to Larnaca, after a winter season based in Canada. Although she was still wearing her Canadian registration, I expect she's now reverted to her normal registration of 5B-DBX.

Comment / Captured overhead on short finals for runway 25 whilst bashing the circuit at Newcastle.

Comment / A rarer visitor to Newcastle, this Monarch A300 arrived on a trooping charter yesterday tea time, from Akrotiri in Cyprus. As you can see, her arrival sadly did not coincide with any decent sunlight!
